- Rhyl Journal 08/09/1900: The new fire escape supplied by Messrs Shand, Mason and Co has arrived, but as the new fire station is not ready, the Council have placed it in their yard at Clwyd Street. The steamer is daily expected, and it is to be regretted that steps have not been taken to get the station finished by now. In fact, tenders are only being asked for this week.
